After Alterna is the secret level of Splatoon 3’s hero mode. Its location is in Site 1, Future Utopia Island. To unlock it the player is required to have completed every other kettle in all six sites with at least one of the weapon options and have defeated the final boss.
Walkthrough[]
Section 1[]
The first section is mostly platforming based and doesn’t have that many enemies. The Squid Surge and Squid Roll techniques are required to reach section 2.
Section 2[]
The second section is based on shooting balloons while you are on an inkrail. It doesn’t have any enemies. There are a lot of moving platforms as well.
Section 3[]
The third section is another platforming based one, which is split into two halves. The first half focuses on using Soaker blocks to get around, while the second half has octomissiles with platforms on them which you have to ride while dealing with more soaker blocks.
Section 4[]
The final section has you fighting a lot of Fuzzy Octolings, similar to Girl Power Station from Octo Expansion, and you have to defeat them all.
After completing the first wave, different Canned Specials are spawned as well to help you out while the arena shifts. The specials are spawned in a fixed pattern, starting with the Trizooka, and ending with the Zipcaster before repeating. Once the first Zipcaster Canned Special is spawned, two additional Armor pickups spawn.
After the second wave, the arena shifts once more, and then the last wave of Octolings will Super Jump to the platform - these Octolings however will use their own Specials, like the Wave Breaker and the Inkjet among others.
Defeating the third and final wave will activate a Super Jump pad that will allow you to finally reach the goal.
