Boss Salmonids are antagonists of the Salmon Run mode of Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3, being elite Salmonids that attack at a larger scale and are the ones that drop Golden Eggs when splatted, differentiating them from Lesser Salmonids who appear in the same mode.
Appearance[]
Boss Salmonids vary in appearance, but their arrival on a Salmon Run map is announced by an alarm and on-screen message saying they've entered the area. All Boss Salmonids look like some sort of mechanical contraption made from pots and pans, which regular Salmonids are seen wielding when attacking, and many are equipped with one of several sub weapons or special weapons that they use against the players once they engage them.

- Most kinds of Boss Salmonids will drop three Golden Eggs at a time when splatted with 2 exceptions, the Chinook, which drops only one and the Griller, which drops 5.
