The Echolocator (Japanese: スーパーセンサーSuupaa Sensaa / Super Sensor) is a Special Weapon in Splatoon.
Description
It is similar to the Point Sensor, but it lets you and your teamtes see all the enemies on the map, rather than enemies hit by it. As with the Point Sensor, the Echolocator will only track targets until it runs out, or when an enemy is splatted. The Echolocator is tracking opponents for 10 seconds and this time IS affected by the Special Duration Up ability. Like when being haunted or affected by Point Sensor, an enemy's Cold Blooded ability decreases this duration.
Usage
Just like all the special weapons, the Echolocator must be charged by splattering ink on the ground. Once it is charged, the player can click the right control stick to activate it. It allows the player to reveal all enemies in battle at the moment, by creating lines that beam from you to your opponents. All players on the user's team benefit as they will also be able to see the opposing Inklings. It lasts a short while and it won't activate on splatted or respawning enemies. If your opposing team has activated an Echolocator, you will see a (sort of) ribbon, with a squid on one end, circling around your waist.
Tips
Using Echolocator will refill your ink tank.Throw your secondary, use Echolocator, then throw your secondary again without having to reload. This works best with Splat Bombs, Burst Bombs and Suction Bombs
Echolocators won't track opponents who are waiting to respawn. Wait until the entire enemy team is a alive to use it
