Fish Scales are a collectible currency obtained in Splatoon 3's Salmon Run Next Wave by defeating King Salmonids. There are three types of scales; bronze, silver, and gold. Bronze being the most common, and gold being the rarest.
Earning scales[]
To earn scales the players must try and defeat a King Salmonid within the time limit. Every player is guaranteed at least 2 scales of any rarity regardless of whether they defeated the King salmonid or not. With every 1/8 damage done players will earn an additional scale. If the players are able to splat the King Salmonid, they will earn 9 scales plus an extra one every ten seconds remaining. A maximum of 13 scales can be earned when there are 31 or more seconds left on the clock. The rarity of the scales received is random, but the chances of silver and gold scales increase as the hazard level increases.
Uses[]
Scales are used in the shop found in the Grizzco. They can be exchanged for work outfits, splashtag banners, and locker decorations, including items and stickers.
Milestones[]
There are two milestones in the Grizzco shop that can be achieve. The first milestone is acquired when spending 100 bronze scales and 10 silver scales. This will unlock more things to buy. The second milestones is achieved when spending 350 bronze scales, 40 silver scales, and 4 gold scales. This unlocks all items.
