Megalodontia is a King Salmonid revealed in November 2023.

Appearance[]

Megalodontia is a giant version of Maws. It has short blue hair, wears braces and has a giant red spot or pimple with an X on its back.

Behavior[]

The Megalodontia’s behavior is most similar to Maws but on a larger power level and size. He will chase 1 player with a green targets symbol marked on them. Once ready, Megalodontia will summon a large green warning circle approximately proportionate to its size and swim up to bite the player if they are caught inside the circle. Inversely, this bite can also splat lesser Salmonids, Boss Salmonids, & even other King Salmonids when facing all of them at once. After the bite, Megalodontia will swim back and send in the warning signal.

Tips[]

  • You can lure it into dealing damage to the bosses you are having difficulty handling. The Golden Eggs will not be destroyed, allowing you to deal more damage for an effective combination.
  • A player targeted by the Megalodontia can lead it into another area away from their teammates, so that way the rest of the team can defeat bosses and throw golden eggs at the King.
  • The Megalodontia's bite can splat even the Horrorboros's Booyah Bomb, so you can lure the Megalodontia to bite the Horrorboros while it's charging up its bomb, dealing massive damage to the latter.

Strategy[]

When a Megolodontia emerges from under the ink after giving its warning signal, there is a time period until it submerges again. Damage can be done to it during this period. Attack the red spot on its back to deal the most damage, and Golden Eggs are especially opportune to use on it. High DPS weapons such as the Grizzco Weapons can deal high amounts of damage in short periods of time.

Trivia[]

  • Due to mistranslation from the Japanese Twitter account[1], it states that the Megalodontia’s name is “Joe”.
    • This has led many members of the community to refer to Megalodontia as "Joe."
