Octoballs are one-eyed Octarian fighters who roll around and spread Octarian Ink. To defeat them you must surround them in your own ink. After rolling into a pool of ink, Octoballs can be shot at to be defeated. If shot at while not submerged in ink, Octoballs will roll in the opposite direction at great speed. It is possible to defeat them by knocking them off an edge. Other than the bosses, the Octoball and Octostriker are the only enemies to not return in the single-player campaign of Splatoon 2.

Octoballs behave somewhat similarly to The Rampaging Octowhirl.

Appearance

Octoballs are members of the Octarian army. They resemble short, roundish Octotroopers, with one large green eye with a sky blue pupil, a crimson and cream body, large purple lips, and a single gray nozzle sticking out of their back. When attacking the player, they roll towards them. They deal damage upon contact.

Trivia

• In the Octo Expansion DLC for Splatoon 2, when the final boss (the NILS Statue) is defeated, Sanitized Octoballs can be seen flying out of its eye when it is destroyed by Pearl's Princess Cannon.
• Sanitized Octoballs can be seen in the Belly Phase of Octo Expansion, seen packed into the rectangular containers.
