The Octobot King L3.Gs (タコツボキング 局地戦仕様, Takotsubokingu kyokuchi-sen shiyō^?, Lit. Octobot King Zoner) is a modified version of the Octobot King II created by DJ Octavio himself and the first boss of Splatoon 3's Hero Mode. It is fought in the Crater's "Octobot King L3.Gs!" stage. It's piloted by DJ Octavio.

Appearance

The Octobot King transforming from flight mode to its bipedal mode.

DJ Octavio mostly retains his appearance from earlier games.

The Octobot King L3.Gs is mainly a dusty white color, presumably from rust.

At the end of the story, it is further modified by Octavio to fly through space and use a brushroll-styled Ink Vac.

Trivia

• The version name of the boss, L3.Gs, resembles the word LEGS and is a reference to the fact that this Octobot King has legs while the prior versions do not.
• He is not using the power of the Great Zapfish, hence why it only takes 12 fist deflections over three phases to defeat him
• In Alterna, the player can go to the Zapfish plush to return to the crater where they will have the option to fight him again
• It is physically impossible to be splatted during the first phase of the battle, as Octavio's fists fire slowly enough that the Hero Suit's armor will be restored before the next attack can hit.
