The Panicking Alla Mambo is a type of lesser Jelleton in the Side Order DLC for Splatoon 3.

Appearance[]

The Panicking Alla Mambo looks like a skeletal fish with red eyes that is covered with black jelly. It is supported by a single wheel. Its design is possibly based off of the real-life angelfish.

Behavior[]

The Panicking Alla Mambo will idle until the player comes too close. It will then drop a Splat Bomb and run away at a fast pace. When it runs, flames come out of the tail, emphasizing that this is a fast enemy. It will also leave a thin trail of ink where it goes.

Strategy[]

It can be easily defeated if the player has a lot of Main Range chips in their Upgrade Palette. They can also be caught by gaining the high ground and then jumping down, if this is an available option on the stage. By far the easiest method is to try and predict its movement, and then ink the ground ahead so they get stuck, made even more effective if the player has some Sticky Ink color chips or even Poison Ink. Some stages also provide the discs dropped by the Whirling Accelerando, which can be used to make trick shots on these enemies.

Trivia[]

  • This Jelleton is somewhat based off of the Tentakook, having similar speed, being easily startled, and also dropping a bomb when that happens.
  • Pearl calls this Jelleton a coward, referring to it always running away.
  • "Alla Mambo" in music is a suffix in the title of a musical piece, referring to the Cuban style of music. This style is defined by its use of the 4/4 time signature and its heavy accent on the even-numbered beats.
