Ruins of Ark Polaris is a map featured in the Salmon Run mode of Splatoon 2.

Layout

Ruins of Ark Polaris is a moderately-sized map, with several Grind Rails around the map that can be used to either escape Salmonids when one is surrounded, or to quickly get Golden Power Eggs back to the basket if swimming in ink is not fast enough to do so. What appears to be the damaged tail section of a Space Shuttle is seen sticking out of the ocean in the background.

Notable Locations

At medium and high tides, the egg basket is situated at the summit of the map, and most Grind Rails end over the four spawn spots where players land at the beginning of each wave.

Hazards

• Because of the pyramid-like layout of the map, enemies can sometimes flank players from two directions if they don't have an wall that can be covered in ink to make a quick escape from being splatted. As always, steer clear of water, especially during high tide. During Goldie Seeking waves, the various pipes where the Goldie can spawn can be located far from each other, making getting between them difficult if too many wrong ones are opened and allow too many regular Salmonids to swarm the map. For players new to this map, getting around can be difficult if they haven't memorized any shortcuts they can use to get between the egg basket and Golden Power Eggs quickly before Snatchers get to them first or are cut off by a Boss Salmonid.
• On the Inkrails during a Griller event, if targeted, a player can accidentally go on the inktrail and go directly onto the waiting Griller.

Trivia

• This Salmon Run map was released after all the others, almost one year later.
