Splatville - Splatoon 3

An Inkling standing in Splatsville.

Splatsville (also referred to as the "city of chaos") is the new hub setting for Splatoon 3, located in the Splatlands.

Not much is known about the city at the moment, but it seems to be cluttered with many apartment buildings, shops, and a tower: the new battle lobby. Planes fly low over the city, and there is even an elevated train line that travels back and forth over the main explorable area.

It is said to be far away from Inkopolis. (Plaza, Square)

During the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere and before it, the city was shown to still be in the middle of construction and renovation work, possibly showing that the city is still undergoing work before the game's official release date, and would be finished when the game officially released.

During the August Nintendo Direct, Splatsville was shown to be home to a new version of Ammo Knights, still under the control of Sheldon, along with new stores for Gear that are run by Mr. Coco, Jel La Fleur, and Gnarly Eddy and Nails. Another shop for decorating and renovating the lockers for players is handled by Harmony. As with previous Splatoon titles, players will have to be at least Level 4 before being granted access to their services. The same goes for Murch, who like in Splatoon 2 in Inkopolis Square, will only open up his services once at Level 4.

Also introduced at the Nintendo Direct was the idols for Splatsville and Splatoon 3, taking over for the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook with handling news and Splatfests for the latest game in the franchise, Deep Cut, consisting of Shiver the Octoling, Frye the Inkling, and Big Man the manta ray.

Trivia[]

  • It seems to be based in Ferreira Amaral Square in Macau.
    • When traveling to Splatlands (which is based on the Mojave Desert or the Grand Canyon), it could be a reference to Las Vegas; as both hub worlds include a desert as a connected landmark, as well as having a Fake Eiffel Tower in it.
    • It can also be a reference to Macau, China, with the buildings resembling those from an apartment alleyway
