The Springing Spiccato is a stronger Jelleton in the Side Order DLC for Splatoon 3.
Appearance[]
The Springing Spiccato is a Jelleton that looks like a fish tail. It has a spring on the bottom of its body. Its design could be based off of the real-life lamprey.
Behavior[]
The Springing Spiccato jumps around, following the player. Once it gets close enough, it jumps high and prepares to slam into the ground to cause damage. When it does this, a red ring appears showing the radius of the attack. It gives the player a few seconds to run away or dodge the attack before slamming down on the ground and inking the area that was inside the radius. It will keep doing this until it is killed, in which it will leave a spring. When the spring is touched it will toss the player up in the air. The attack is similar to a small version of the Splashdown.
Strategy[]
Before it slams on the ground for its attack, there is about 3-4 seconds it’s in the air. Simply look up and kill it before it slams on the ground. Use the remaining spring to jump out of a swarm of Jelletons, or to ink some extra ground for mobility.
Trivia[]
- When this Jelleton is killed, it drops a spring. You can jump on top of this spring and float above the map with the Pearl Drone.
- You can also use this spring to cover ground with your ink.
- "Spiccato" in music is a bowing technique for bowed stringed instruments, like the violin or the cello, in which the performer lightly bounces the bow off of the strings on different note changes, in an alternating pattern.
- The tutorial for using the springs of this Jelleton is also the tutorial for the turbine powering.
