Squad Battle (Japanese: タッグマッチ, Taggu Macchi / Tag Match) is an online multiplayer mode. It was featured in the Splatoon August update.
Description[]
In this mode, friends can form a group — or squad — of two up to four players and compete against other squads in Ranked Battles, but it won't affect the players that were above S rank. There are 3 selections to choose for the number of your squad members.
Twin Squad Battle[]
After a player creates a squad, friends can be recruited to form a team of two Inklings. Friends will always play together on the same team and team up with another 2 players squad to battle against other 2+2 squads at random.
Quad Squad Battle[]
After a player creates a squad, friends can be recruited to form a team of four Inklings. Friends will always play together on the same team and battle against other 4 players squads at random.
Tri Squad Battle[]
The same as Quad Squad Battle, but instead of four it allows 3 players team battle against 4 players squads at random, it was recommended for more skillful players.
