Welcome to Octopia is the second stage in Hero Mode of Splatoon 2. The mission can be found in the first sector, Tentakeel Outpost. The level has an beachy feel to it, as the mission is set in a beach’s ocean with mountains above the sand. There are also seems to be life-preservers and kayaks around the area.

Kettle Location[]

The kettle is easy to find. The player must go to the very end of the map and go to the area that is contained by grates. The player shall go through it with squid form and then shoot at the invisible kettle with ink and open the kettle, and into the level.

Gameplay[]

Spawnpoint[]

The level starts players off with a thin platform, leading into a bigger, wider platform with boxes. In the small center, a Balloon Fish is there, guarded and being circled by an Octopod. Since the balloon fish is there, agents can easily defeat the Octopod with a single press of a button. Once shot the Balloon Fish will explode, splatting the Octopod and also revealing a Power Egg container. After that, agents can swim up the wall and onto a new platform, with two sponges. These are useful as they can help players get onto another platform that is too high up to reach. After getting up onto the platform, the agent is welcomed with a large space and a single Octotrooper, placed on top of a tiny box containing Power Eggs. Some sponges are there for cover. After beating the fiend, one can go up and ink the next one, with more sponges for cover. After that one, an inkable wall is leading up to a checkpoint, which the player must go on.

Checkpoint 1[]

The platform is very long, and it extends to a large puddle of Octarian ink, with another balloon fish on the center. Ink to it, and several Octopods attached to balloons will ambush you. But, since the balloon fish is there, the player can again easily defeat them all. After that, there is a tall wall with boxes by it, stopping the player from going upwards onto the launchpad. But these can easily be destroyed with the new balloon fish on the wall, so the player can still continue onto the launchpad and into the next checkpoint.

Checkpoint 2[]

The player lands directly onto the next checkpoint. They have to go down below it, as the next platform is below the grate on the front of the checkpoint. A large gap is between the new and the next platform, but a sponge is there to help the player out. On the newest platform, a tall beam stretches upward. The player must go up it via inking the inkable sides of it and going upwards. But, two Octotroopers are guarding the grates on the beam that the player needs to go up, so the player must be careful. Up next after going past the grates, another platform with a tall beam is ahead, but this time a shielded Octotrooper is circling it on the grates above the player. The player can go up the inkable side and splat the Octotrooper, or go even further down into the Octarian-inked platform and break open a box containing the Sunken Scroll. The player can go upwards further up and onto the beam, where they will be rewarded with another box with a power egg.

After this, a long and wide platform is up ahead, and Octo Paratroopers are up ahead. since the platforms are big and there are sponges for cover, this makes it easy for players to splat them, and move onto the next checkpoint.

Sunken Scroll[]

At the final pillar, the player can go down the grate and break open a box, containing a Sunken Scroll.

Checkpoint 3[]

The player will have to look to the left, and find the large wall. The player must swim up it, and go on the grate. Also on the wall, is a Squee-G. They will suck up the ink splattered about on the wall, and will try to stop thr player from progressing. But, it's slow, so Agent 4 should swim up with ease. Once on the grate, the player will realize that the grate goes to the other side of the wall. The player must follow it, and they will find a new platform, with a sponge. Go up ahead, and Octotrooper Bonbons will spawn from above, ready to attack. Once defeated the player will swim up the sponges and find even more platforms. Ahead, there are boxes accompanied by a Balloon Fish, and on the left of that an inkable wall which the player must swim up to reach the Launchpad. Once done, they will superjump onto the next checkpoint.

Sardinium[]

At the Launchpad, skip it and go all the way upwards on top of the tall structure, there will be three boxes, with Sardinium inside one of them.

Checkpoint 4[]

The player is greeted with two boxes, one containing armor and the other containing a can containing the Splashdown special. The player goes up to an "arena", with nothing more than enemy ink and sponges. Suddenly, 5 Octotroopers with Balloons attached spawn, softly landing onto the ground. Although there are multiple enemies, the player has the Splashdown activated, so they won't be much trouble. After that, more will appear. There is a box with another can with Splashdown inside of it, so again the player must not worry. After defeated, a launchpad with spawn in, allowing the player to progress.

Checkpoint 5[]

The player finds an uninkable wall up ahead. Luckily, there are sponges that allow the player to go up onto the wall. Once up the player is greeted with an Octotrooper. The player can easily beat it though, and afterwards they can go down the grate to the next and final checkpoint.

Final Checkpoint[]

The player will go towards and they will find the path is blocked with nothing and water below. But, there are floating sponges the player can ink to maximum size with the Balloon Fish also up ahead. On one of the sponges, there are armour that the player can use. Reaching the large platform spawns an Octobomber with a balloon attached to it. Luckily, there are Balloon Fish that can splat it instantly. In front of the player are three small boxes containing power eggs, some normal boxes, and two sponges. A series of Balloon Fishes and sponges create a path that can be climbed towards an arch. On top of this, is a power egg container. Finally, the player can go through the arch and meet up with the Zapfish, breaking it out of it’s light bulb-like structure.
