Wet Floor is a band in Splatoon 2. They have been the main band in the game until Version 2.0.
Members[]
Keaten[]
"This guy plays synthesizer and is the group’s founder. He’s out to restore some indie dignity to Inkopolis’s music scene that’s lately been taken over by giant pop stars. When it comes to songwriting, he lets others take the initiative. He prefers tinkering with sounds to performing, and the studio is a much more comfortable place for him than the stage."
-Squid Research Lab[1]
Keaten, also known as Kagi in the Japanese version of the game, is the synth player of Wet Floor. He is an inkling, but for unknown reasons, his skin is blue.
Mizo and Ryley[]
"Wet Floor also has two members that play guitar and provide vocals. The guy on the left is a fan of vintage rock sounds. You can hear it in the sharp, jangly rhythms of his riffs. The girl on the right is a faithful follower of the church of punk rock, and she carves out riffs with a more hunky, bass-heavy sound. These two don’t always see eye-to-eye, but when they’re in the groove, their two distinct sounds meld into a medley of magical music."
-Squid Research Lab[2]
The Japanese names are MIZOLE and RYAN. (As opposed to their English names: Mizo and Ryley.) The vocal parts are performed by Hiroaki Takeuchi (竹内浩明) and Sachiko Watabe (渡部沙智子). The guitar part is performed by Akitoshi Kuroda (黒田晃年).
According to sources, (Specifically Haikara Walker) Mizo has a rivalry with Squid Squad, especially Ichiya, similarly to Baker from C-Side. However, he is still influenced by them and their music. On the other hand, Ryley is inspired by Squid Squad, not seeming to have as much of a problem with them.
Candi and Neil[]
"These two bring a fast-paced technical beat to the group’s sound that’s every bit as crucial as the members who play up front. The guy on bass has a trademark string-slapping style, while the drummer uses her multiple limbs to keep a driving, super-stable backbeat. The friendly rivalry these two share makes the band sizzle with thrilling rhythm."
-Squid Research Lab[3]
The Japanese name for Candi is Kazami, and she's the drummer of the band. The Japanese name for Neil is Tsumabushi, and he's the bassist. The bass part is performed by IKUO (渋谷郁央). The drum part is performed by Kei Yamazaki (山崎慶).
According to Haikara Walker, Candi at first seems like a fairly optimistic and "cute" person, however, she's described as being a "technical musician who trains relentlessly". Sometimes, she even beats herself up about how she sounds in Wet Floor's recordings, although, she tends to keep these behaviors hidden. She also enjoys watching Mizo and Ryley argue from afar. Meanwhile, Neil is seen as the "big brother" of the band. He and Candi often show up to rehearsals early in order to practice more. According to Candi, the hardest Wet Floor song to play is "Don't Slip", saying that it has a confusing time signature.
